CHRIS Taylor admits his future lies away from the County Ground after the club told him he was free to look for a new club.
The Swindon Town youngster is playing for League Two side Torquay United in a friendly against Forest Green Rovers today, bidding to earn a permanent deal at Plainmoor.
Taylor, 20, has been with the Robins since the age of 11 but, with six months left on his professional contract, is resigned to a career elsewhere.
"The club have said I am free to leave," he said. "It is disappointing because I have been here for so long but I am now just desperate to sort something else out sooner rather than later."
Taylor, a former England under-15 international, made his debut as a late substitute in Town's 1-0 win at Crewe in April 2003 and made three further substitute appearances that season with manager Andy King handing him a three-year contract.
He spent the latter part of last season on loan at Newport County.
