JON-Paul McGovern believes Huddersfield’s main threat tomorrow will come from the flanks, but is confident Town can expose the Terriers’ gung-ho mindset.

The sides clash at the County Ground on Saturday with Huddersfield sitting top of League One, and the visitors will take to the pitch with one sole intention - to attack.

Terriers boss Lee Clark likes to play with two out-and-out wingers and they have scored an average of more than two goals a game so far this campaign.

But Swindon midfielder McGovern reckons that mentality will leave them susceptible at the back - something which he intends to take full advantage of.

“What Huddersfield do is play two out-and-out wide players and really come at you, both home and away,” explained the 29-year-old.

“They are free-scoring, but on the other side of it they tend to maybe lose a goal or two in trying to play the way they do.

“That’s the sacrifice they make in terms of how the wingers play and how the team plays.

“But we will have our own game plan of how we want to get at them, and hopefully it works on Saturday. It will be important for us to impose ourselves on them and make sure that we do the business.”

Huddersfield are one of the division’s big spenders, having lured former international stars like Damien Johnson, Alan Lee and Joey Gudjonsson to the Galpharm Stadium over the summer, and McGovern thinks the pressure is on them to finally gain promotion.

“I think Huddersfield will be up there come the end of the season, and they must be up there with the biggest budgets and spending the most,” he said.

“There’s a big level of expectancy on them, they’ve got a good side, and we found that last year when we played them both home and away.

“With spending a lot of money comes that expectancy. They have been expecting to get promotion the last couple of years, but they’ve got some great players down there and will bring a great side to us.”
