WE may be more than half way through the Football League season but for one local team, the path to Old Trafford is just about to begin.
Westrop Primary School have fought their way through local play-offs to earn the right to represent Swindon in The npower Football League Under 11 Kids Cup.
The six-a-side team will now take on other schools competing on behalf of Football League outfits in the first round of the area finals.
Due to take place at Goals Soccer Centre on March 15, the winner of the area final will become the region's sole representative.
They will then battle it out for a place in the grand final, to be held at Old Trafford in the build-up to the League One play-off final.
The npower Football League Kids Cup is a nationwide tournament for primary school children and thousands of schools take part each year.
