SWINDON Town offer the second most expensive day out for fans in League Two, a new survey has revealed.

BBC Sport’s Price of Football survey claims that for a fan to purchase the cheapest adult ticket at the County Ground as well as a programme, pie and cup of tea will set them back £27.10.

Bradford City provide the most expensive matchday experience at £27.80 while Rotherham offer the cheapest, with a day out at the Don Valley Stadium setting a fan back just £16.30.

Town’s most expensive matchday ticket is £25, although interim chairman Jeremy Wray has explained that this is a headline price and may not necessarily be the same for all League Two fixtures this season.

The survey also revealed that the most expensive match package in the country is at Premier League side Liverpool, which will cost a fan £46.95.

Malcolm Clarke, chairman of the Football Supporters’ Federation, said: “This (football) is an industry that has more money going into it at the top of the game through media rights than it’s ever had before.

“It’s important that football continues to be attractive to the whole cross-section of society, so it doesn’t just become something only middle-class and upper-class families can afford.”
