MIDFIELDER Abdul Said has left Swindon Town after failing to land a new deal with the club.

The teenager was handed a six-month professional contract last summer after impressing for the youth and reserve sides at the County Ground, but has been unable to force his way into manager Paolo Di Canio’s first-team plans after recovering from a serious knee problem.

Said is now free to find a new club.

The 19-year-old said: “I really enjoyed my time as a scholar with Swindon and made some good friends.

“I didn’t get as much match time as a pro as I would have liked, but I’ll move on.

“At the moment I am going to take part in a few trial games and see what the future holds.”
