OLD FIRM of Royal Wootton Bassett and Westlecot men's teams have reached the last eight in the Wiltshire four rink league.
Although a new northern section has been introduced this season with the two clubs, plus Purton, Wroughton and Marlborough, also from the old Area B joining forces with the 10 Swindon clubs (old Area A), the new league table has a very familiar look to it once again.
Bassett and Westlecot finished at the top of affairs, Bassett heading the table with 175 points with Westlecot in second on 160 points.
The top four teams in the newly-created north and south sections move forward to the play-off quarter-finals, hoping to be crowned champions in mid-September.
Bassett, Westlecot, Highworth and Town Gardens are joined by the southern section qualifiers Holt, Chippenham Town, Spencer Moulton and Amesbury.
Clubs can amicably agree whether play-off games will be two rinks home and two away or all four rinks on a neutral green.
DRAW Play-offs draw - quarter-finals (play by August 27): Royal Wootton Bassett (winners north) v Amesbury (fourth south), Chippenham Town (second south) v Highworth (third north), Westlecot (second north) v Spencer Moulton (third south), Holt (winners south) v Swindon Town Gardens (fourth north).
