Walcot’s boxing twins Kieran and Jordan O’Donoghue get the chance to perform in front of their home crowd on Friday when the Swindon club host their first event of the season, writes DAVE VEYSEY.

The talented 14-year-olds have already achieved much during their fledgling careers.

Kieran has reached the semi-finals of the national schoolboy championships for the past two seasons, and is rated in the top four in the country for his age and weight.

He encounters Jake Spooner of Brentwood ABC.

Whilst Jordan narrowly lost on points in last season’s national schoolgirl final, and She faces Abbey Bates of Burslem. Dad Jason is a Walcot coach and he can’t wait for the action to start.

He said: “Kieran and Jordan meet tough opponents on Friday so it should be a good test for both.

“I am very proud of what my two have achieved so far, but I feel there is more to come from both of them.”

All together there will be around 16 contests on Friday at the Supermarine Sports and Social Club.

As well as the O’Donoghues, Walcot also hope to have their national schoolboy champions Patrick McDonagh and Said Eltuyev on the bill.

Tickets are £10 at the door which opens at 7pm, with the actions starting at 8pm.
