SWINDON'S Luke Watkins will make the first defence of his Commonwealth cruiserweight title against former British title challenger Mike Stafford in Leicester on December 2.

Watkins, undefeated in 12 pro fights, will put his strap on the line against Southport's Stafford (16-3-0) on Cyclone Promotions' 'All or Nothing' card at Leicester Arena.

'The Duke', trained by local cornerman Paddy Fitzpatrick, was crowned the new Commonwealth cruiserweight champion after stopping Robin Dupre in the sixth round at the York Hall earlier this month.

The Watkins fight is the co-feature alongside a huge fight for Malmesbury's Joe Hughes, who will challenge Sweden's undefeated European super lightweight champion Anthony Yigit.

Fellow Swindon fighter Ryan Martin also has a big ring assignment pencilled in, taking on Ludlow's Craig Morris in an English welterweight title eliminator on the same bill.

Tickets for the 'event are priced from £30 and are available at ticketmaster.co.uk or via 0844 844 0444.
