WILTSHIRE'S final Unicorns Championship Western Division clash of the season lay in the balance at the end of day two as hosts Shropshire fought their way back into the contest at Bridgnorth CC.

The home side, chasing Wiltshire's sizeable 418-7 first innings score, reached 389 all out in just short of their full 90 overs having resumed on 77-2 on the second day.

Opener Steve Leach hit 88 and decent middle-order knocks from David Wainwright (44), Ross Aucott (57) and Jack McIver (62) took Shropshire to within touching distance of their target.

Tahir Afridi was the star with the ball for the visitors, taking 6-93.

Wiltshire lost wicketkeeper Billy Cookson for one in their second innings, but were 20-1 at stumps, with the match set to conclude today.
