SWINDON School of Gymnastics boys clinched 44 medals at a competition in Bristol.

The event comprised of three pieces of apparatus, floor, vault and trampette, where competitors had to perform a selection of skills from a compulsory list.

Swindon’s youngest competitor, six-year-old Freddie Herbert, was among those to impress, taking floor gold.

At level one (seven years), Josh Truman, Sam Lucas and Freddie Oakley filled the medal positions, while Oscar Symons and Dylan Morse grabbed overall silver and bronze and level two (eight years).

Charlie Herbert and Harry Oakley were first and third overall at U9 Intermediate level, Oakley winning floor gold with Herbert second.

The U11 intermediates, Jonathan Winchcombe, Nathanael Titcombe and Alfie Herbert, all impressed, Winchcombe with vault silver and Titcombe wining the floor and trampette.

Harrison Stimpson-Duffy won four 12+ intermediate silver medals, John Gulland taking gold on the floor and overall.

Swindon nine-year-olds Otto Lake, Gilbert Tim and Alex Bell were entered into the National Development Plan Grade event, South West squad member Tim placing 11th and Lake and Bell 24th and 25th.

The Swindon School of Gymnastics sent three girls teams to compete in the second round of the West Country League in Melksham.

The U11 junior squad saw Millie White top the group for her bar routine, Shannon Reynolds earning vault top spot and the highest floor routine mark.

Amelia Simpson, Leah Jowdie and Ellie Bell also impressed as the team finished fourth.

Annabell Bath gained the third highest U13 score for vault, Izzy Moran taking the fifth best mark on floor as Daniella Reynolds, Francesca Webster, Amelie Tyler helped the team finish second.

At Over 13 level, Jessica Lomas was second and third best on vault and floor, Shannon White earning the highest marks on the vault, beam and floor while second on bars. Lauren Evans and Millie Swift helped the team to overall victory.
