YOUNG Malmesbury racer Louis Harvey collected a pair of podium finishes at the latest round of the Rissington Championship.

Harvey won the first final and followed that up with a third-placed finish in the second to extend is lead in the championship.

After a strong performance in timed qualification for Klaassen Motorsport, Harvey posted the second fastest time to put him on the front row of the 19-strong grid for the heats.

The first went well, with Harvey finishing second before mechanical issues hampered him in heat two.

After the points were added up, Harvey would start from ninth for both championship rounds, so had his work cut out to get good results.

A clean start in the first final saw Harvey climb to fourth on lap one, while by the end of lap four, he was chasing for the lead.

A clean move on lap eight saw Harvey shoot to the front, a position he held until the chequered flag.

Harvey struggled with traffic initially in the second final, although he was still up to third by the end of lap two.

Despite some brave passing attempts, that was the position Harvey had to settle for at the flag, although the results were enough to extend his lead in the championship to 50 points ahead of the nearest challenger.
