LAST weekend’s four-point haul was huge for the team in many ways.

The points are massive at this stage of the season and we’re battling with Peterborough Phantoms and Basingstoke Bison to finish top, so to beat Peterborough was huge.

I still think the title race is going to go down to the wire, which is exciting for everyone involved.

It has been really important for us, mentally, to prove that we can beat the teams around us, so to pick up those wins was fantastic. Now, we need to take that momentum and confidence into the games this weekend.

Our coach, Aaron Nell, is right, the title could be decided this weekend when we’ve got two big games against Basingstoke.

It’s teams that are up there in the standings, so these are games we have to win, and we will have to give everything we’ve got.

It will feel like a cup final or a play-off weekend, you just have to do everything you can. It would be two massive wins and it would be invaluable for our season.

It is quite nice when you get that sense of nerves and excitement before the game because you know how big it is and how much it means to everyone involved.

Something that will give us comfort is the fact that we’ve performed well in big games this season and I think that will continue this weekend too.

We all have very high expectations from the club as well as ourselves. Ultimately, we’re here to win games and win trophies and we’ve missed out on some trophies already this season, so our eyes are now set on the league and the play-offs.

We’re confident going into this weekend and we certainly have the ability to beat Basingstoke. They work hard and they are a fantastic team, but I have full confidence in our players to turn up and put in a winning performance.

We’re now on a 10-game unbeaten run and that is a fantastic achievement for anyone. It’s a great run and it’s something that we want to keep going until the end of the season, if possible.

But really, it’s not a surprise to us because that’s why Aaron put us together – we should be making good runs like this.

Hopefully it will all come together with a league title.
