FIRSTLY, I’m so relieved to finally be able to announce my testimonial game.

We’ve been sorting everything out for weeks now and I’m delighted to finally announce all the details. It’s going to be on April 27 and I’m excited to have a lot of legends back on the ice at the Link Centre. Hopefully we can put on an exciting spectacle for all the fans.

Last weekend was another big four points and everything is really starting to come together. It’s good to keep that winning mentality and especially at this time of year it couldn’t be more vital.

With the amount of big games coming up and the title race too, I can’t overstate how important winning the title would be for us as a club.

It also helps with play-off seedings as well, so it’s a massive opportunity for us right now.

Aaron said to us recently, ‘every game is a cup final game now’ and we only have to win two of our next four to become champions. To have a one-game weekend now is obviously very nice because it saves our energy from the day before.

On the other hand, it is sometimes nice to play on a Saturday because then it means you’re already in the right frame of mind and you’ve played some hockey before Sunday.

Whenever we play, the boys are motivated because we know how close we are to clinching something really special.

The league is about consistency, so if we end up winning the league through someone else losing then it just means we’ve been more consistent over the course of the year.

We’re very close now and we just need to keep this momentum moving forwards.
