SWINDON Wildcats forward Sam Bullas has announced his testimonial this week as the fan-favourite celebrates ten years at the Link Centre.

Bullas’ testimonial game will take place on Saturday April 27 and is set to feature a legends vs Wildcats game as well as a skills competition and the chance to win the 28-year-old’s match-worn jersey.

Since arriving in Wiltshire in 2009, the Nottingham-born player has made 454 appearances for the Wildcats while accumulating 208 points and has lifted three trophies with Aaron Nell’s men – most recently, the cup double last season.

Discussing his time in Swindon, Bullas admitted he never could have foreseen the memorable moments he had collected in Wildcats gear and thanked the Nell family for making him feel like one of their own.

Bullas said: “I never thought when I came down, I was 18, that I’d be here for ten years, but I wouldn’t want to play anywhere else.

“I’ve been looked after in my entire time here and I’m delighted to have the game.

“Swindon is my second-home and I’ve been looked after so well by the Nell family and everyone down here.

“The biggest thing for me about the club is the family aspect and how they grow that family culture and how everyone is welcome and we all get along.

“You are looked after as professionals and I don’t think there is another club in the league that is as professional as Swindon.

“I can’t think Steve and the Nell family enough for providing me with the games and looking after me for all these years.”

The 28-year-old went on to explain what else fans could expect to see at his testimonial.

Speaking to the Swindon Wildcats website, Bullas said: “There are loads of activities planned for during the testimonial game such as a skills competition, own and loan jerseys, a shirt off the back competition to win my testimonial jersey.

“On top of all this, there will be some exclusive testimonial merchandise which we’ll announce soon.

“We will also be having a very special 50/50 competition where 50% goes to the winner and 50% goes to a charity very close to me and my family so hopefully we can all dig deep and raise lots of money for Cancer Research.”

Tickets will be available for the testimonial at Wildcat Sports or on a Wildcats game day they’ll be available from the Supporters Club desk. Wildcats season ticket holders will have their seats reserved until Sunday 10th March, after this any unsold season ticket seats will be up for general sale.
