LONDON Raiders will provide Aaron Nell’s Swindon Wildcats with their first test of the newly introduced National League when they visit the Link Centre on Saturday, September 21.
Information regarding Wildcats’ 2019-20 fixture list was published on Saturday, including the details of all 26 home fixtures – including the two visits of new team Leeds Chiefs.
Raiders have re-signed trio Aaron Connolly, Dan Scott and Brandon Ayliffe during the off-season, and will undoubtedly be looking to start their 19-20 campaign in positive fashion.
Just 24 hours after Raiders’ visit, Nell’s troops travel north to face Hull Pirates in their opening competitive away fixture of the season.
Other highlights include Wildcats’ Boxing Day trip to Basingstoke, before the Bison visit the Link Centre on New Year’s Day before Raiders visit three days later.
Meanwhile, the final weekend will see Cats take on Peterborough Phantoms before they travel to Romford to complete the season against Raiders.
Furthermore, the first home and away fixture against each team will double up as a Cup fixture – the last Cup fixture for Wildcats will therefore take place on Friday, November 29, against Basingstoke at the Link Centre.
Wildcats head coach Aaron Nell said: “It’s always an exciting time for fans, and the club, when fixtures come out.
“We think we’ve got a good selection this year at home, with 23 Saturday games, one Sunday game, one Friday night game and a home game on New Years Day.
“Plans are underway for the start of the new season and we hope to announce those at the season launch day next week.
“We know pre-season will be a battle but we cannot wait to get going properly against Raiders on Saturday, September 21.”
