PATIENCE will be the key for Alan Low’s Royal Wootton Bassett side in what the head coach has described as a ‘massive’ fixture against Alchester.

The two teams are locked on 10 points from seven games in the lower reaches of Southern Counties North, with Bassett looking to end a run of five defeats in a row when they travel to Oxfordshire.

Despite the losses, Low has been pleased with elements of his side’s displays in recent weeks but knows they need to improve their execution if they are going to pick up the necessary results.

“We still have injuries to deal with and players to bring back in so we need to work on that and focus on getting things sorted,” he said.

“It’s a huge game for us because we’ve had a number of games where we maybe should have taken a bonus point from but didn’t.

“We need to focus on our execution and our patience, we force the ball a little bit, but we need to look at building scores and not rushing things so that we can maintain possession.

“This year was a real building phase for us with the new facilities and new coaching but this is a massive weekend for us.”

“We look at where we are and some of the scores, and we are competing against some of the top teams in the league, but we are leaking a few scores.

“The boys are buying into everything and there is progression so we just need to keep the ball rolling.”

Elsewhere in the division Swindon College Old Boys go to second placed Bletchley looking to haul themselves off the bottom of the table .
