One to watch: Danny Rose

STRIKER Danny Rose took his goal tally to 15 for the season when he netted in Mansfield Town’s 3-1 victory at home to Barnet last weekend.

Although the 24-year-old’s haul has come from only 31 games, it marked just the second time this season that he has hit the back of the net in consecutive fixtures.

Rose is enjoying a far more fruitful second season at the One Call Stadium as he only managed a return of 10 goals from 42 games in 2016-17 following his arrival from Bury for that season.

Swindon Town boss David Flitcroft will be well aware of the striker’s talents as it was his Shakers side who Rose left to join Mansfield back in the summer of 2016, with the two also having been manager and player together at Barnsley before that.

Key battle: Matt Taylor v Rhys Bennett

MATT Taylor appears to have reclaimed the left wing-back role in Swindon Town’s 3-5-2 formation during recent matches and has been a strong influence on the side.

The 36-year-old was unfortunate to give away a penalty at Accrington Stanley in midweek and his crosses and set-pieces contribute to regular chances for Swindon.

Although Taylor is unlikely to torment Mansfield right-back Rhys Bennett for pace, his delivery from the left should still be a potent weapon.
