ADVER Sport assesses the performances of the Swindon Town players following the club's 2-1 victory over Arsenal U21 in the EFL Trophy.

Lewis Ward: 5

Beaten by a venomous strike but his kicking was so poor all evening. He’s got to improve with the ball at his feet if Ward wants to challenge Wollacott long-term.

Rob Hunt: 7

Hunt was aggressive and eager to win the ball back every time it went near him. Another consistent performance. Booked.

Akin Odimayo: 6

A quiet game as Mika Biereth preferred to peel away down the right. Completely dependable, as usual.

Romoney Crichlow: 6

Still has a tendency to get dragged out of position slightly, but stuck to the task well. His turn and shot in the second half was a nice surprise – a pity it didn’t burst through the goalkeeper’s hands. Subbed.

Ellis Iandolo: 7

Iandolo rose to the occasion after being handed the captain’s armband. He played like a leader with strong tackles and decisive play – a pleasure to watch since Salford.

Mohammad Dabre: 8

What a guy. He ran for days and threw everything into his performance. He was in the right place at the right time for his goal too. One for the future, for sure.

Ricky Aguiar: 7

He’s still a bit raw in a few aspects but doesn’t look out of his depth at this level at all. He certainly has attacking quality – my only real criticism would be his positional sense needs brushing up on.

Ryan East: 6

Very solid and simple from East with his all-around game. He never lets you down and holds his position well.

Harry Parsons: 6

Parsons’ shooting boots weren’t on tonight aside from one decent effort. You can tell he’s desperate to score for his hometown club, and I’m sure it will come soon.

Alex Gilbert: 7

Another one whose shooting boots weren’t quite tied up properly. He makes things happen in the attacking third though – carried on from his sparkling cameo against Stevenage in that regard. Subbed.

Jayden Mitchell-Lawson: 7

Mitchell-Lawson’s first start produced glimpses of what he’s capable of – great speed, trickery, and intelligent runs. Could have scored when bundling through, but poked wide. Subbed.

SUBSTITUTES

Dion Conroy: 6

He had little or nothing to do really aside from tidying up some frayed Arsenal attacks. A good run out.

Jack Payne: 6

Bust a gut to reach the box a few times as Town looked to kill the game off. Added a different dimension to attacks.

Tyreece Simpson: 7

The young striker had a whale of time when he came on. The Arsenal defenders were getting bullied time after time, and the striker nearly added to his goal tally, only for a smart save to deny him. An excellent response from Saturday’s disappointing showing.
