SWINDON Town Official Supporters Club treasurer Tim Keen provides an update on the latest news regarding the fan group.

I’d like to start this week’s article with another shout out to brave Link. For those that didn’t see the wonderful photos of Link as the mascot in Saturday’s match away to Oldham, he’s a little boy who’s bravely battling cancer.

The OSC worked closely with his family and arranged and funded the mascot package with the club generously donating home and away kits.

We know from speaking to his family that Link really did have a day to remember. It’s wonderful to be able to use the money we raise as a Supporters Club through the Match Day Draw and other events to be provide the funds for opportunities like this.

And what made it an even better day for Link was that Swindon managed to bag their sixth away league win of the season and fourth in a row. I was there and it really was rocking in the Chaddy Road End, I can tell you! It was also brilliant to see Tyreece Simpson bag his first brace of the season with two superb finishes, and I really think there’s more to come from him this season.

We were all hoping to follow up the away win with a bumper crowd at the Swindon Town Women’s match against Exeter the following day, but unfortunately the weather put paid to that.

The OSC had worked closely with the club on promoting this event and we’d organized a host of Hallowe’en-themed events for children. We’re now hoping we can help promote a similar fixture in the future and will ensure all the sweets that we bought don’t go to waste!

In fact, we’re now starting to plan some Christmas events – providing goodie bags for the Junior Robins Christmas Party and also supporting the Senior Citizens Christmas Party. As I mentioned above, it’s great to be able to provide financial support for these events.

We also recently took part in the third advisory board meeting this week – these are going very well and typically over-run – there really is so much going on at the club right now as they strive to reach number one in the Fan Engagement Index.

We represent the voice of the fans on this forum, so please contact us with any questions or issues using social media or our email address which is admin@stfc-osc.com.

Finally, it’s that small matter of the FA Cup on Saturday. Wouldn’t it just be wonderful to actually have a cup run this season? Fingers crossed and all that…COYR.
