I FEEL I must write and say how honoured I was to be invited to a ceremony recently in Castle Eaton church.

It was a service dedicated to a small group of men who had died serving their country during the Second World War.

A local man organized the service, invitations, a memorial plaque, British Legion standards and a small group of RAF musicians.

This would seem a simple operation but for the people who were in that church it was an extremely moving occasion. Thank you Adrian.

That was not the end of it as after the service the good women of the village once again provided one of their exceptional spreads in the village hall.
