LAST week on the bus to town in Windsor Road we picked up about 30 children and adults from a play group on route to the library. The bus just got going when we had singing and shouting “The wheels on the bus went round and round,” as much as I love children sing I thought this was bad training. Speaking to one of the leaders, about it she said the children were very young and allowed to express themselves.

My view is that from a very early age children should be encouraged to sit quietly on transport, doctors’ waiting rooms, and all public places to learn consideration to others.

The headlines in the Advertiser this week is shocking. Lack of respect in classrooms to others.

The damage done on allotments is really sad, I remember what pleasure my husband had bringing home good fresh food, even though that was hard work at times.

These last few years, it’s been bus shelter damage, graffiti, walls pushed down, noise, shouting, swearing. Are the youth expressing themselves?

Parents please from a very early age, teach children to be patient, consideration to others, respect in all they do, and they will grow up to be children to be proud of. Most of all remember you are the ones to set an example.
