DOES the public not care that badgers are being unfairly blamed as the hosts of Bovine TB?
A 12-week public consultation period, run by DEFRA, ends on March 10, yet the response has not been as high as expected, especially the public outcry against the killing of badgers. Why not?
The proposed badger cull has no scientific justification. In fact, Government-commissioned research has shown that culling is not an effective TB control measure. If readers would like to support the campaign to stop the cull, information and an online petition can be found at www.badgertrust.org.uk You can also write to Ben Bradshaw MP (House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA) or DEFRA (Nobel House, 17 Smith Square, London, SW1P 3JR).
