It has come to my attention that the Queensfield partial road closure at peak times has left a resident upset.

I noticed that Mr T Taylor from Hathaway Road has a great interest in the matter and on more than one occasion has made comments that you have published naming Coun Tray in a negative way.

The first time he referred to Coun Tray as Batman, which I found laughable as Coun Tray is a fireman and, in my eyes, is already considered a superhero. He was also one of the firemen who helped prop my house up after a car ploughed into my porch, which could have killed my baby daughter at the time.

So as a Queensfield resident who was affected in more than one way by the speed and volume in front of my house, I find the comments from Mr T Taylor offensive and inaccurate on quite a few points.

Firstly, the police are not parking every day to police our issue and as a Hathaway Road resident I am sure he is not getting the full brunt of traffic that we on the rat run are. Mr Taylor is only getting a partial view of what really is going on in the community.

The original idea from the council (before Coun Tray who was voted in by ‘the locals’) was to close the road completely, dividing our lovely community in two. With any luck, common sense will prevail and Arkwright Road will be opened and the good people of North Swindon will have a choice to drive to their destinations without having to cut through small local communities.
