A CORONER has recorded a narrative verdict at the inquest into the death of a woman who fell from the Wyvern car park last year.
Melisa Castle, 28, a mother of two, fell to her death in April.
At the inquest held at Salisbury Coroner's Court today, the coroner said: "Melisa has been the victim of a number of violent and abusive episodes over the years that have resulted in her becoming reliant on drugs and alcohol.
"In 2013, she was diagnosed with personality disorder, post traumatic stress syndrome and was dependent on drugs and alcohol. On the night of April 3 and the early hours of April 4, Melisa took a large amount of drugs and alcohol. This combined with a disagreement with an acquaintance.
"On that day, she climbed to the roof of the Islington Street car park and despite efforts of police officers, they could not help her and she pushed herself from the top floor."
Melisa suffered fatal head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
