A MAN on Disability Living Allowance who failed to tell the authorities his condition had improved has been warned he could be jailed.

Samuel Dixon pleaded guilty to dishonestly failing to notify a change in circumstances when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court.

The 30-year-old accepted he had failed to inform the Department of Work and Pensions of an improvement in his mobility between April 2009 and January 2014.

Dixon, of Kitchener Street, Gorse Hill, pleaded not guilty to a charge of fraud, which prosecutors said they would not proceed with.

Judge Peter Blair QC said he would adjourn the case to Tuesday, January 6 so a pre-sentence report could be prepared and released him on bail.

He said: β€œIn order to identify how you are to be punished I will need a report from the probation service. All options will be considered.”
