A PICNIC in the Park event is taking place on Sunday to mark a United Nations peace day.
Queen’s Park will be hosting the Peace One Day festivities between noon and 4pm.
Organisations such as Save the Children, Amnesty International and Hope not Hate have been involved in planning the event, which will feature performances by Swindon Samba and other bands, alongside bulb planting and other activities.
Emma Johnson, Save the Children’s regional fundraising manager, said: “We are coming together to offer families free activities to enjoy. It will be great to hold the event and welcome as many people as possible to celebrate peace.
“We hope this event will put Swindon on the map.”
