TWO triple bogeys hampered Ben Loughrey’s delayed opening round at the Scottish Masters.
Fog at the Royal Montrose Golf Club prevented Loughrey from beginning his first round on Tuesday.
The Wrag Barn professional eventually managed to complete his opening round yesterday but a score of nine-over par was not what Loughrey was after.
Playing in his second EuroPro Tour event, Loughrey bogeyed the first hole before snatching the shot back at the second.
His first triple bogey at six cost Loughrey dear and he followed that up with a bogey at the next.
Another triple bogey at the 14th inflicted more damage to Loughrey’s scorecard while further bogeys at 15 and 16 left him well off the pace and battling to make today’s cut mark.
Loughrey will begin his second round at 2.51pm today.
