Swindon welcomes yet another fantastic cycle park on April 5, with the grand unveiling of the new Fleming Way Cycle Park.

With bike security being the main concern for most people when they think of cycling into town, this new cycle park offers a safer way of storing your bike.

Similar to the Brunel Cycle Park, the new Fleming Way site, located in Fleming Way Car Park, will offer 60 safer cycle spaces covered by CCTV, as well as a Fix It station, where you can make simple repairs on your bike.

Already, Swindon has more than 300 registered cycle park users for the Brunel Cycle Park, which has 120 spaces, so a new site will be greatly welcomed.

Existing and new users will be able to use both cycle parks to store their bikes, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Registration is a one-off charge of £10, which gets you your own access card that can be used at both parks.

There are no daily charges, so you can park up and enjoy a spot of shopping, take in a play, or feast on a fabulous dinner at leisure! To celebrate the unveiling of the Fleming Way Cycle Park, Swindon Travel Choices will be holding a free event outside Debenhams on Saturday, April 5l. Starting at 9am and finishing at 5.30pm, the team will be celebrating your new bike park by making smoothies on the Bike Smoothie maker, helping with free information and handing out freebies.

Claire Fleming, Swindon Travel Choices co-ordinator, said: “The new cycle park is a great way for people to store their bikes more safely. We’re really looking forward to showing it off and celebrating Swindon’s Cycling revolution!”

So why not go along and have a look at the safer way to store your bike in Swindon, have a smoothie and join in the celebration?
