Heather Mitchell, the CEO of SEQOL, tells us about her life with food
Do you cook a lot yourself? What is your failsafe dish?
I love to cook and enjoy entertaining family and friends. My failsafe dish would be shepherd’s pie followed by Cape brandy pudding.
Where do you like to eat out? How often?
I like good pub food or Italian, and eat out two to three times a month.
What do you always hope to find on a menu? For starter? Main course? Dessert?
Starter, avocado. Main, any fish but especially sole. Pudding, anything fruit based, especially cherries and passion fruit.
Which foods did you hate as a child? Do you eat them now?
Cabbage and tapioca – and no.
What’s your favourite drink? Alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
Champagne and ginger beer.
Marmite: yes or no?
I’m more of a Bovril fan.
What’s your guilty pleasure when it comes to food... something you know you shouldn’t eat, but do anyway?
Fish and chips.
You are on your own at home watching a film. What is your snack of choice?
Something savoury like crisps or olives.
You are eating a bacon sandwich... ketchup, brown sauce or nothing at all?
Ketchup
