Beth Mcmurray, 32, co-owner of the Three Trees farm shop and cafe at Chiseldon, tells us about her life with food Do you cook a lot yourself?

What is your failsafe dish?

Between running the shop and looking after a toddler, I don’t have much time to cook. My failsafe dish is sausage and mash – made using Three Trees Farm sausages, of course!

Where do you like to eat out? How often?

My favourite place to eat out is Silks on the Downs, at Ogbourne St Andrew near Marlborough. The food is amazing. Unfortunately I don’t get to each there as much as I would like since Sidney came along.

What do you always hope to find on a menu? For starter? Main course? Dessert?

I like to try different things. I am always tempted by shellfish as that’s something I wouldn’t cook at home, and if creme brulee is on the menu the other puddings aren’t going to get a look in.

Which foods did you hate as a child? Do you eat them now?

Brussels sprouts. I still hate them now.

What’s your favourite drink? Alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

Definitely tea! I don’t drink alcohol – I’ve never developed a taste for it.

Marmite: yes or no?

Yes

What’s your guilty pleasure when it comes to food...something you know you shouldn’t eat, but do anyway?

Confectionery in general – I can’t narrow it down any further than that.

You are on your own at home watching a film. What is your snack of choice?

Ice cream, straight out of the tub.

You are eating a bacon sandwich... ketchup, brown sauce or nothing at all?

Nothing, and the bacon has to be very, very crispy.
