THE 107th annual Swindon Music Festival was brought to a close over the weekend with a rousing performance by some of those lucky enough to have been awarded prizes.
Yvonne Walker, of the festival, said: “The festival ended with a magnificent evening of performances by the winners of all the different classes.
“There was a huge array of talent and some exceptional performances.
“All Swindon folk should make a note in their diaries to come and hear the performers at next year’s festival which takes place from Friday, March 24 to Saturday, April 1, 2017.”
The final winners were: l Mature Class (over 50) The Doris James Memorial Trophy Mike Viret.

- Spiritual / Gospel Song The Cliff & Marie Cardis Trophy Caroline Pitt.
- 20th Century British Composer The Audrey Hawkins Memorial Cup Robert Felstead.
- German Lieder/French Chanson The Janice Thompson Cup Cathy Gibbs.
- Recital – Time limit 15 minutes The Georgina Evenett Recital Rose Bowl Caroline Pitt.
- The Ken Exton Trophy Alexander Harris.
- The Beatrice Plaum Challenge Cup Zoe Tan.
