AN emotional cannonball will be heading for Swindon this weekend.
Light Falls Forward, an acoustic folk duo, aka Charlie and Naomi Evans, are special guests at this month’s Lazy Sunday Afternoon. Tom Robinson from BBC6 Music coined the term ‘emotional cannonball’ for the duo after hearing their haunting chamber pop sound.
The chilled roots music event on Sunday is organised by Swindon’s own folk popsters Mr Love & Justice, led by Steve Cox.
Double bass player and singer songwriter Rick Foot is no stranger to Swindon and he makes a welcome return on the same bill bringing his abstract improv jazz to the mix.
The host band will also perform to round off the afternoon at the Savernake Street Community Hall, Savernake Street, Old Town.
Steve said: “We play a contemporary take on the West Coast crossover sound of the late 1960s - melodic and heartfelt folk-tinged songwriting in the grand tradition.’’ The gig begins at 3pm and tickets are £5 in advance from http://www.wegottickets.com/event/389172.
You can also get them on the door for £6.
