Gigspanner Big Band mixes together some of folk rock’s renowned artists into one cauldron of swirling music.

Award-winning duo Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin are teaming up with the Gigspanner trio, made up of former Steeleye Span fiddler Peter Knight, Roger Flack on guitar and Sacha Trochet on hand drums and percussion.

The Gigspanner Big Band will be tuning up from 8pm, tonight, Thursday April 5, at the Town Hall, 5 High Street, Marlborough as part of the Marlborough Acoustic Roots season.

Peter left Steeleye Span in 2013 and has since brought Gigspanner into the realms of top innovative acts on the folk/roots scene. Their last studio album was out in 2015 and entitled Layers of Ages.

They play a mix of Cajun, Cuban and Eastern European music alongside the traditional English folk they are known for and with Roger’s rock roots their is an edgy underbelly. Tickets are £18 from 01672 512465.
