A TEESIDER who likes hugging and eating cake (but not simultaneously) will be bringing his unmistakable brand of humour to Swindon Arts Centre next week.

Patrick Monahan will be bringing his new stand-up show, Cake Charmer, to Swindon on Thursday, April 17 at 8pm.

Renowned for his superb anecdotes and unique charm, the stand-up comedian is performing in Swindon as part of his UK tour.

In 2012, Patrick had a fantastic run at the Edinburgh Festival with his show, Shooting From The Lip, winning the ThreeWeeks Editor’s Choice Award for Best Stand-Up 2012 and followed by a UK tour.

Most recently seen on TV as host of Jongleurs Live! (Sky), on Fake Reaction (ITV2) and 12 Again (CBBC/BBC2), Patrick’s many other TV appearances include Comedy Annual (ITV1), Daybreak (ITV1), Loose Women (ITV1) and The Wright Stuff (Five).

Winner of the ITV1 series, Show Me The Funny, which led to the release of his debut DVD, Patrick Monahan Live, (2 Entertain), he also took part in Let’s Dance for Sports Relief on BBC, won Best Newcomer at the Loaded LAFTA Awards and Forth Radio Best Stand-Up People’s Choice Award for his hit show, Hug Me I Feel Good.

Patrick also appeared in ITV’s celebrity diving show, Splash, earlier this year.
