Rounding off their 50th anniversary year, Wroughton Amateur Dramatic Society is going for gold with the popular pantomime Goldilocks And The Three Bears.

Goldilocks will be tucking in to her porridge from Saturday, December 13 to Sunday, December 14 at the Ellendune Hall in Wroughton near Swindon.

WADAMS was set up in the summer of 1964 by Peter Gladders, performing two shows a year, a summer production and a winter panto.

WADAMS Juniors also strut their stuff in a performance of their own.

The society is a frequent entrant in the Harold Jolliffe One Act Play Festival held every spring and has scooped numerous awards. Members meet every Wednesday in the Ellendune Hall and hold in-house training sessions during the year.

Sally Parker, from WADAMS, said: “We are part of the life of the community and are always willing to undertake requests to entertain various groups and organisations.

“We all get involved with the production including set construction, costumes, front of house and publicity.’’ Joining Goldilocks and the family of bears in the panto are Old Mother Hubbard, her dog, the shoemaker and the elves and Tommy Tucker, and the special guest is Father Christmas.

The show will be performed at the Ellendune Centre at 2.30pm and 7pm on Saturday, December 13, with a show at 3.30pm the following day.

Tickets cost £9 for adults and £7 for children and are available on 01793 825645, or online at www.wadamsdrama.org.uk.
