GROWING up acting in a drama group gave David Greenhood a real insight into pantomime, so much so that this year he is writing and directing Jack and the Beanstalk for the Tiverton Players.

David, now 28, began treading the boards with the Gorse Hill based theatre company when he was just eight years old, so his version of the famous fairytale is tailor-made for Tiverton.

Matthew Knotts takes the title role of Jack with Amber Wollen is the leading lady, Princess Sally, in this comedy panto, which has something for all the family.

The Swindon actors have been entertaining their audiences since 1948, in the Gorse Hill Community Centre, and this year welcome the Tanwood dancers as their special guests in the show.

Jack and the Beanstalk runs from Thursday, January 29 to Saturday, January 31 from 7pm, with a matinee at 2pm on the Saturday.

Tickets are £5.50 for adults, £4 for children and concessions and a special £16 family ticket. They are available from 01793 640271.
