SIMON Evans has been immersing himself in economics for the last couple of years, like a pig immersing itself in… you know what we mean. Exhibit A: his Radio 4 series Simon Evans Goes to Market. And he is sticking to the topic which has served him so well of late in his new stand-up show, In the Money.
He has done his research and is ready to share his discoveries with the public. He has unpicked why the French don’t want to own their own home (sex, obvs), why mass spectrometers reveal Americans to literally be made of corn, and why Alco-Synth - the effects of alcohol but with an effective antidote - is not likely to be appearing at a wine bar near you in the near future, despite having been invented years ago.
Because even he has his limits when it comes to economics he will eventually change the subject and launch into a heartfelt rant about his children.
Simon Evans appears at the Arts Centre on Wednesday, May 25 at 8pm. Tickets are £15 and available at swindontheatres.co.uk or on 01793 524481.
