Young Swindon dancers and actors can lift their game, by going back to summer school for coaching by an award winning professional.

John Ross Summer School runs from Monday, August 8 to Friday, August 12 and is hosted by Swindon Dance at the Town Hall Studios, Regent Circus and it is funding assisted so participants only pay £25.

John Ross won Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures Choreographer Award in 2013 and was named as one of the BBC Performing Arts Fund’s 32 Ones to Watch for 2015.

The choreographer now runs his own dance company and in Swindon he is taking a summer school workshop for performers aged 11 to 18-years from 10am to 4pm daily. The school is suitable for both dancers and actors of varying experience and consists of a series of games, exercises and skills developments.

At Swindon Dance all this week Prime Theatre, a Swindon based company who recently enthralled audiences with their interpretation of The Odyssey, have been leading a group of children aged six to nine years in a performance based workshop called Revolting Roald Dahl. They are making a play in a week and are supported by British Sign Language so the project is the perfect chance for deaf children to take part in a mixed arts activity.
