COMEDY is far from a men’s game. And veteran comedienne Jo Caufield and stand-up sensations Zoe Lyons and Beth Vyse will prove just that with a trio of gigs at the Arts Centre.

First up is Zoe Lyons, who narrowly missed out on the best joke gong at the Edinburgh festival last summer. In Little Misfit, which opens at the Arts Centre tomorrow, the comic explores a childhood spent mostly not fitting in. She was the awkward gay kid at school with a different accent and quite a severe bout of alopecia. And sporting a massive comb over while harbouring secret desires for Charlies Angels was never the ticket to popularity. Thankfully Zoe has reached that point in her life when the thought of actually fitting in would be utterly terrifying. She doesn’t want to be in anybody's gang and is now far happier being a Little Misfit.

On Sunday, Jo Caulfied is back in Swindon with The Customer is Always Wrong. From the potential minefields of dating, relationships and divorce, to the simple things - like booking a holiday, or joining a pub-quiz team – nothing is ever as straightforward as it should be. And the award-winning stand-up and writer, who is behind some of Graham Norton’s best jokes, is determined to get things back on track.

Full of razor-sharp observations and her trademark witty insights, The Customer is Always Wrong takes a humorous look at life’s potential traps, what can go wrong, how to deal with them - and, in some cases, how to make everyone else suffer with you.

Last but not least, Beth Vyse will tackle the big C – sporting strap-on bouncy breasts and a Dolly Parton wig if you please, in As Funny As Cancer on Tuesday, October 11.

The show is a ballsy look at her battle with breast cancer, many surreal encounters along the way and the months spent navigating the NHS. The former thesp also throws in a few choice anecdotes of her time with Nelson Mandela, her days of acting and thieving at the Royal Shakespeare Company and settling down with Michael Jackson – no, not him. Not to mention her producing two football teams from her womb, and all before she turned 30.
