Kentwood Junior Choir have been limbering up their vocal chords ready for their own show called But The World Goes Round.

The curtain rises on a special song, written by former Kentwood student Louise Onslow, entitled World. It will be sung by Tammy Hollands, Lauren Durrant and Kate Palmer.

The choir, led by Sheila Harrod, founder and musical director, perform a real pot pourri of styles and eras from folk tracks such as All Kinds Of Everything sung by Megan Castle, to the choral of Angels Watching Over Me, sung by Alys Hardiman, and the full choir.

Old favourites such as I'm A Believer are sung by the full choir accompanied by the band, led by Paul Maguire, musical director from the West End. His musicians are Sheila herself on keyboard and piano, Gary Bamford on keyboards, Tracey Absalom on bass guitar and Andy Griffiths on percussion.

There are various musical theatre pieces such as Fame performed by the whole choir and Mr Mistoffelees by Georgia Pennock and the choir. Fun songs such as Agadoo by Lily Hoodless and the challenging beauty of Ave Maria sung by Lily Dodson create a concert for everyone. The youth show is on Saturday, October 15 at 7.30pm in the Swindon Arts Centre, Devizes Road, Old Town. Tickets are £13 from 01793 524481.

The full Kentwood Show Choir are also in rehearsal for the annual Kentwood Christmas Cracker which this year has only one performance on Sunday, November 27 at the Wyvern Theatre from 6.30pm.

Special guests this year are the Aldbourne Band, young pianist Kimberley Mok and Swindon's own jazz trombonist Ian Bateman.
