The search is on for young talent in Swindon.

Gifted youngsters who can sing, dance, act, create films, make people laugh or recite poetry are wanted for an arts showcase to take place in the spring.

Prime Theatre, a professional theatre company based in Swindon, have teamed up with the Friends of the Swindon Arts Centre to co-ordinate the showcase.

Emma Gray, Young Producer, said, “This is my first year being involved and I know that Swindon has a lot of hidden talent. This is a great opportunity for under 25s to gain confidence and let the public see what they can do!”

The show case is open to all young people in the Swindon area aged between nine and 25 years who don't necessarily have the opportunity to present their work at a professional venue. The curtain will rise on the new talent at the Arts Centre, Devizes Road in Old Town on Friday March 2 2017.

Prime Theatre create touring productions for audiences aged 12 months and upwards and they are supported by the Arts Council England and Swindon Borough Council.

The theatre company also runs Prime Youth Theatre for young actors, writers and technicians.

Last year's showcase featured Red Oaks Primary Schools British Sign Language choir, Swindon’s Young Musicians Guitar duo and Visual art from Students of The Commonweal School.

Daisy Jesson, a performer in last year’s showcase said, “It’s brilliant this event is happening again. Last year was so fun to be a part of and I’m sure a whole new group of young people will really enjoy being involved this time round.”
