Many dancers have taken their first steps on the career ladder by attending Swindon Dance.

This month the studio, based in the Town Hall, Regent Circus, welcomes back six of its former students in a special showcase production called The Alumni.

The dancers are all now in varying stages of their professional careers. They are Kieran Warner and Chris Thomas who recently graduated from National Centre for Circus Arts, Charley Logan (trained at the London Contemporary Dance School), Rob Bridger, Carys Staton and Thomasin Gulgec who all graduated from the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance.

Thomasin was one of the dancers included in the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony with Akram Khan. He worked with Russell Maliphant on the film Erbus and with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui in the 2012 film Anna Karenina. He also danced in Macbeth at the Young Vic.

The Alumini will be showcased on Friday, January 13 at 7.30pm in the Town Hall studios. It will also include the launch of Swindon Dance's new programme to help young professional dancers starting out in their careers. Tickets are £11, £9 and £7 for groups of ten.
