This weekend sees the final performance of the pantomime at the Wyvern Theatre.

The Cinderella extravaganza, starring soap actor Ryan Thomas, has been a rip-roaring success. So much so that this weekend is completely sold out.

The show, which opened on December 10, has seen huge crowds flock to the Wyvern, and this weekend will be no different.

When he spoke to the Adver last month, Coronation Street star Ryan described panto as “relentless” and “testing”.

He said: “It’s really something that appealed to me when it was put on the table. All my friends have been in panto and I’ve been to see numerous pantos over the years.

“My daughter’s mum [and former Coronation Street co-star Tina O’Brien] was in a few. I reckon I’ve seen more pantos as an adult than as a child.

“It’s even more fun as adult. You get all the jokes, all the humour that went over your head a kid.”

The show was staged by the producers of previously successful Wyvern productions such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Dick Whittington, Jack and the Beanstalk and Aladdin.
