AFTER sold-out premieres of The Nutcracker and Romeo and Juliet, The Russian State Ballet and Opera House is back for another season of classical favourites.

In the run-up to Christmas, the critically-acclaimed troupe will enchant audiences in Swindon over two nights with productions of Swan Lake and Gisele. Both ballets will be performed to a 30-piece orchestra.

Featuring a timeless score by Tchaikovsky, Swan Lake is a Russian classic, complete with evocative music and beautiful dance.

This ballet has captured the imagination of many generations over the years and continues to attract audiences worldwide, full of mystery and romance.

One of the greatest romantic stories of the 19th century, Gisele stands as one of the most celebrated classical ballets.

Composed by French composer Adolphe Adam and librettists Jules-Henri Vernoy de Saint-Georges and Théophile Gautier, the harrowing tale of the peasant girl promises to capture spectators’ imagination.

Swan Lake will be staged at the Wyvern Theatre on Tuesday, October 28 at 7.30pm.

Gisele will open on Wednesday, October 29 at 7.30pm.
