HEADLANDS School will become an academy.
At a meeting of Swindon's schools' organisation committee held at the Civic Offices tonight, the vote went through to agree to the changes.
It will mean that Headlands and Pinehurst junior and infants schools will be amalgamated and move to the site currently occupied by the Pinehurst People's Centre.
The academy, which will be run by the United Learning Trust and backed by Honda, will be one of the first schools teaching from 0 to 19 years in the country.
