SCIENCE Museum Swindon's bid for a well-deserved £50m in Lottery support is nothing less than a cavalcade of wonders.
The plans that could see regular rocket launches and creating a new type of museum are contained in its proposals.
Calling the project Inspired is, one might say, inspired, because if the future of science and scientists in this country are to be secured, a hefty slice of inspiration is precisely what's needed.
We live in a world whose reliance on technology grows by the day, and yet the number of young people opting for scientific training and scientific careers is worryingly small.
Many people see science as too unglamorous or simply too hard, but Inspired, with its plans for a wealth of exciting projects, will surely help to change all that.
This excellence is in our grasp, not to mention the prospect of a truly world class tourist attraction on our doorstep.
Let us all now work together to make this fine plan a reality.
