A man from Old Town has appeared in court accused of possessing class A drugs and an illegal weapon that sprays toxic liquid.
Uplifter Nicholson denied possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine and having the prohibited can of noxious fluid as well as a knife.
The 47-year-old was first arrested in Oxfordshire when he is said to have had the spray and both sorts of drug on him.
He was then arrested on Penzance Drive in Swindon on suspicion of carrying the knife and more drugs.
Nicholson, of Saxon Court, pleaded not guilty to two counts of possessing heroin with intent to supply and two similar counts relating to cocaine.
He also denied possessing a prohibited weapon and denied having a bladed article when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court.
Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case until Tuesday May 13 when Nicholson will face trial by jury.
He was released on conditional bail.
