WILTSHIRE Police is appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in the town centre.
The incident took place on November 8 between 11pm and midnight outside the Savoy pub, in Regent Street.
The male victim left the Savoy pub with two friends and began walking down Regent Street towards to direction of the town centre.
A group of five men outside the pub started shouting at the victim before one came over and punched him to the head, causing him to fall to the ground.
The other offenders then surrounded the man as he lie on the floor and kicked and punched him repeatedly.
The victim suffered a bruised eye and cuts to the face as result of the assault.
The offenders are described as teenage males all with hooded tops and it is thought that one or two were on bikes.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously.
