WITH this morning's deluge of rain, the areas prone to flooding across Swindon have already started to be affected.

Amongst them is Wootton Bassett Road, where cars are having to plough through water.

Have you come across a road that is badly flooded? Tell us here and we will continue to update the site as more information comes in.

List of roads affected (as supplied by readers)

- Dorcan Way (near Eldene Centre)

- Liden Drive

- Queens Drive (near Burger King and at the junction with Lawn)

- Greenbridge Road

- Purton Road

- Royal Wootton Bassett Road

- Wiltshire Police have just issued a warning for the A429 (north of junction 17). There is 18ins of standing water, which is passable with care

So far we have had reports of flooding at the roundabout on Dorcan Way, near Eldene Centre, Liden Drive and Greenbridge Road.

Whilst it's good that Bassett was given Royal patronage I can't help wonder if the papers in Leamington Spa or Tunbridge Wells always add the Royal prefix.

Lol I was just being pedantic

But yes I hear you - the road signs in Malmesbury and around Bassett have been changed to prefix 'Royal' and even the newspapers do it on the property pages. Yes it's an honour but don't need it quoted in every reference to the town.

The. Back road leading to cricklade from west Swindon is completely flooded. Tried going back through there last night, impossible.
