Police call for witnesses to fatal crash at Kingsdown near Swindon

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road crash on Thursday afternoon.
A 53-year-old man from Highworth was killed after his Ford Mondeo collided with a street lamp in Kingsdown Road, Kingsdown, Stratton.
Steve Cox, of the Serious Collision Investigation Team, based at Devizes police HQ, said: “Officers from Wiltshire Police Serious Collision Investigation Team attended and began an investigation into the circumstances of the collision. The road was closed to traffic for five hours to exam the scene, make safe the damaged street light and to recover the vehicle.”
